Like always, we'll be having a server with the new update,
but just this time I wanted to go back to adding a bunch of crazy shit so it's essentially like we're playing modded, but we aren't really.
(Let's just be honest with ourselves, base 1.18 is pretty boring)
Some important things to note is that mob griefing is on and keep inventory is off, and I don't plan on giving people get out of jail free cards this time either,
so don't lose your items
Don't complain about any lag, there's a lot of shit
(also enable server resource packs and use optifine please oh please)
Check this section regularly

Reset the end, probably don't warp to homes set in the end
Added FokaStudio's Ender Expansion to make the end significantly more interesting
Enabled the whitelist

Updated Terralith
Updated True Survival
Added more custom enchantments (throw book and quill on an enchanting table to get started)
Significantly cut down the server resource pack to let anyone use whatever resource pack they want (only remaining changes are the special discs and all of True Survival's items)
Deleted many of the custom recipes and custom items (rest in peace copper shears ) but some will be added back using data packs instead of the buggy plugin
May take a bit before the server is running again, I'm making a backup

Had to rewind the world back to when I updated Terralith yesterday
Infernal mobs now are significantly rarer, and stronger

Updated Terralith (hopefully no issues caused by this (this is why we always make backups kids))

Updated the server texture pack
Added weakened bedrock data pack (throw lingering weakness potion onto bedrock to convert some of it to cobblestone overtime)
Temporarily Christmas-ified things but probably broke a lot in the process
Created a WIP crafting guide for recipes added to the server available here

The server has been updated to 1.18.1, this is due to performance-enhancing changes as well as a permanent solution to the log4j exploit (tell me if anything is broken)
Server texture pack has been updated
Gem villagers have been added to the world spawn, so you can finally make use of the treasure gems you've found in chests
A few recipes have been added/re-added such as the enchanted golden apple recipe

Dynmap has been added to the server, click here to view the world map
Vanilla Tweaks' Graves data pack has been added in an effort to prevent players from losing all their items to clear lag
Re-enabled the amplified Nether data pack (doubles the Nether's height) but had to wipe the Nether (shouldn't matter as not much exploration has been done)
The server's RAM amount has been increased to hopefully help fix some lag spikes
Fixed that slippery security vulnerability that existed for like 8 years I guess
This one is a little lighter on the rules, because I want you guys to be able to do what you want (as long as you don't fuck around with others too much (unless it's mutual))
Don't steal from other players
You can take from them if you ask permission, but generally, it's just a bit of a dick move
Don't hunt down and repeatedly kill other people
It's sort of mean and can ruin the fun for someone else if you just sit around and repeatedly kill them when they don't want you to
Don't mess around with other people's builds
Sometimes people put time into building things and they don't want other people to mess things up
Don't go too far away
This is less of a rule and more of a suggestion, don't kill the server, there is too much shit in this world
The Dynmap plugin functions as a world map that is viewable in your internet browser, and it's automatically updated.
You can view the server's map at http://serverip:8123/ (this map is no longer functional for the time being)
Dynmap's features include both top down and an angled 3D render of the overworld, Nether and End, (you can select different maps from the pull out menu on the right side of the page), displayed player locations and a text feature where you can send and view game chat messages from your browser.
There is a whole load of mechanic changes and additions as this server uses the True Survival data pack.
I'll only be covering some of the more major changes here, go visit the data pack's wiki here for a lot more info.
There have been some important changes to various survival aspects, some examples are:
Torches now have to have some form of kindling (i.e. paper, leaves, grass, etc.) included in the crafting recipe
Torches can also be crafted with a fire charge and a stick instead of a piece of coal/charcoal, the stick and some kindling. This method also yields an extra 2 torches
Fortune on axes will cause logs to drop 3-4 planks, with higher levels of fortune increasing the chance for the number of planks to multiply
Mining stone and deepslate has a chance to drop iron nuggets
A few basic monsters have been buffed such as zombies giving players hunger when they attack or creepers giving nearby players slowness
Now, a lot of the hostile mobs throughout the game have a chance to drop emeralds.
This chance varies based on the mob's rarity and difficulty, but these chances are affected by looting.
The reason for these mobs to drop emeralds is that some significant progression items now take emeralds to craft, these items include:
Eyes of ender - Need an emerald for each
Enchanting table - Needs an emerald block instead of the obsidian at the bottom middle
Ender chest - Needs 2 emerald blocks replacing either both obsidian in the middle row or both obsidian in the middle column
By placing an item frame on the top side of a crafting table and putting an emerald in it, you can create a custom crafter.
Access the custom crafter by right-clicking on the top of it (it can still function as a regular crafting table by clicking the sides or bottom), and you'll be able to craft some new items added by the data pack.
There have also been some QoL crafting changes such as:
Chains are now cheaper to craft
Chainmail armour can be crafted with chains
Slimeballs are craftable with spider eyes and water
Sugar can be crafted with 4 sweet berries
Coal and charcoal can be crafted into black dye
Natural regeneration is gone, sucks to suck.
Doesn't mean you can't get health back, you can still use potion effects and stuff, but the data pack adds a few new ways to heal:
You can regain 6 health by throwing a log onto a campfire (every player within 6 blocks of the fire gets healed)
You can do the same with soul campfires but using either of the nether stems
There is a new item added called "Healing Salve" which can be crafted at the custom crafter. Putting the healing salve in your offhand will use it and heal 4 health
Killing boss minions (yes, the Wither and Ender Dragon summon minions now) will heal 4 health
Every three minutes you will regenerate 1 health if you are at over 16 hunger and in an area with a light level of 8 or higher
This data pack also adds things that will take away hunger, and although it sounds unfair, because of natural regeneration being off, you essentially only have to eat so you can sprint and avoid starving.
Tossing a log on a campfire will cost some hunger
Sleeping, which grants the player absorption, will also take a lot of hunger
Most zombies will give you hunger when they attack, you can become immune to this by wearing a full set of chainmail (which is now craftable)
Husks will give you the same hunger effect as well as nausea for 10 seconds, but wearing chainmail won't grant immunity to either of these effects
Wearing a diamond or netherite chestplate will cause you to lose a little bit of hunger when you attack
Again, look at True Survival's wiki for more info about all the gameplay changes and additions
Decided to bite the bullet and include some helpful commands this time

Vanilla tweaks always has some cool data packs that help out a lot, so here's a list of the included ones and brief explanations of what they do.
Fast Leaf Decay
Leaves decay significantly fast when trees are mined in survival
Custom Nether Portals
Nether portals can be made out of obsidian or crying obsidian in any shape
Cauldron Concrete
Concrete powder can be dropped into a cauldron with water in order to instantly harden it all
Armoured Elytra
Dropping both a chestplate and an elytra on an anvil will combine them, letting you have elytra flight with the protection of armour
You can separate your elytra and chestplate by throwing it on a grindstone
(Please note, custom enchantments are very finicky with this, so be warned)
Player Head Drops
Players will drop their head when killed by another player
Anti Enderman Grief
Prevents Endermen from picking up blocks
Anti Ghast Grief
Ghast fireballs will no longer blow up blocks
(Because of True Survival, the fireballs will do significantly more damage if they hit you though)
Double Shulker Shells
All Shulkers drop 2 shells instead of 1 in order to make shulker boxes easier to craft
Dragon Drops
The dragon will drop a dragon egg and an elytra when it dies
More Mob Heads
There is a chance for every mob to drop it's head on death
Silence Mobs
By using a nametag named "Silence Me" on a mob, they'll no longer make sound until their name is changed
Treasure Gems
There is a chance for treasure gems to be found in loot chests, these gems can be used to trade with gem villagers
Gem Villagers
Adds villagers that trade mini-blocks for the gems you can find in chests
Wandering Trades
Wandering traders will always have a random selection of mini-blocks you can buy from them for an emerald and 1 of the mini-blocks regular counterpart
Chunk Loaders
Throwing a nether star onto a lodestone will create a chunk loader, that will keep whatever chunk it's in loaded until the lodestone is broken
These chunk loaders only load the chunk they are in
(The chunk loaders can cause a lot of lag in this already laggy server and are fairly buggy)
Graves
When you die, a grave will be placed at the location you died holding all of your items
Shift right-click the grave to retrieve your items
Although Minecraft 1.18 has some crazy cool generation, it's still a little bit boring.
Basically every vanilla world I generated for some reason was either all ocean, or all plains with a few little hills here and there, and a world like that isn't fun to play on. That's why I decided to say fuck basic world generation, time to use Terralith, which is basically the best world gen mod/data pack.
It adds a shit load of cool new biomes that use all sorts of blocks from the vanilla game, with all these impressive biomes blending seamlessly with each other and the vanilla biomes.
Ice Marsh
Alpha Islands
Temperate Highlands
Amethyst Canyon
Blooming Valley
Fractured Savanna
And a lot more cool places, but I can only spend so long going around taking screenshots

Throughout the world, good ol infernal mobs are gonna be spawning, offering a bit of a challenge for some cool loot as a reward.
We've used this plugin many times in the past, but here's a quick(-ish) refresher.
Any time a mob spawns in, there is a chance that it will spawn in as an infernal mob. These infernal mobs spit out lava particles, and they also have a health bar at the top of your screen.
There are different levels of infernal mobs, and it will say their level in their name above their health bar.
Infernal mobs will have all sorts of annoying abilities such as blinding nearby players or trapping them in webs, and the higher the level of the mob, the more abilities they'll have (on top of a health increase)
Killing infernal mobs will drop 1 of the ~110 custom drops that have special enchantments, give the holder buffs or are good generic loot (i.e. diamonds, potions, etc.)

Hopefully this server works out more than some of the others we've done (1.17 make me :( a lot), and lasts for a while,
but there's not much I can do to force you guys to play.
Overall, there is a lot of things to do with this one and I'm happy with that, and there's still the opportunity that I might eventually add more stuff for us to play around with.
Can we just not commit war crimes and cause other people (except Westley I guess) to stop playing this time?
Ask me for IP I guess (and I gotta add you to whitelist too)
Had to start doing this because a few ne'er-do-wells were slipping on and trying to be naughty.
